Silver Strikers Go Top Of TNM Super League, Nomads Record First Home Win

Silver Strikers have dislodged Blue Eagles at the top of the TNM Super League standings following a 3-1 victory over Moyale Barracks at the Silver Stadium on Saturday in Lilongwe.

The Bankers are now a point above Eagles with 23 points from 11 matches.

And in another league encounter on Saturday, Mighty BeForward Wanderers recorded their first home win of the season after edging Red Lions 3-1 at Kamuzu Stadium.

Peter Wadabwa scored a hat-trick to help the Nomads move to position 11 with 11 points from eight matches while Red Lions drop to 13th with 10 points from 11 matches. Kumbukani Mwambeni pulled a goal back for the soldiers.

Wanderers coach Eddington Ng’onamo made only two changes to the side that beat Mtv Max Bullets 2-1 in the Presidential Cup in a midweek fixture at the same.

Red Lions coach Pritchard Mwanza conceded the defeat, saying his troops cost them the game with a lot of mistakes.
