Mighty BeForward Wanderers have made it into the semi-finals of the Presidential Cup after beating MTV Max Bullets 2-1 in a heated game played at Kamuzu Stadium.
Bullets lived up to their threat against the Lali Lubani Road giants when they resiliently controlled the fair part of the game; but the Nyerere camp rose to be victorious through a penalty awarded in the later minutes of the second half.
Prior to the game, Bullets had warned Wanderers against underrating the elite league, challenging they were very much prepared for the crucial encounter.
However the odd favored the Blue camp, the 2015 Carlsberg Cup champions.
Nomads scored through Isaac Kaliati and Peter Wadabwa who converted a spot-kick to clinch the hard fought victory.
Wanderers started with Peter Munthali on goal with Boston Kabango, Foster Namwera, Stanley Sanudi and Ted Sumani as defenders.
Ernest Tambe, Rafiq Namwera, Isaac Kaliati and Mike Kaziputa marshaled the midfield while Peter Wadabwa and Luka Milanzi were upfront.
Max Bullets have been the whipping boys in the TNM Super League having lost seven games and drawn four times.
They are yet to register a win and they currently seat on position 15 of the 16 member log table with four points.
Their opponent-Wanderers are on position 13 with eight points but they have played only seven games against 11 of Bullets.
Another Presidential Cup fixture will be played at the Mzuzu Stadium on Saturday and will involve Kabwafu FC and Nyasa Big Bullets.
