Football Association of Malawi (FAM) technical sub-committee has decided not to renew National Football Team coach, Ernest Mtawali’s contract after a meeting on Saturday at Mpira House in Blantyre.
The meeting was called to review Flames’ performance under Mtawali’s management and after going through his full report on the Flames’ performance at the Cosafa Castle Cup tournament and in the Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) qualifiers.
According to information Malawi Punch has sourced, the meeting resolved not to renew Mtawali’s contract which is to expire next month.
Once FAM President Walter Nyamilandu endorses to the decision, Mtawali’s junior, Nsanzurwimo Ramadhan will take-over as Flames care-taker coach.
Flames were beaten by Zimbabwe 3-0 in Harare in Afcon qualifiers and were eliminated from Cosafa by Lesotho.
