Football fans were on Wednesday treated to a mammoth of goals in the K60 million Presidential Cup regional playoffs with top TNM Super League teams made it through to the national phase of championship.
About 89 goals were scored in central and southern regions playoff featuring a mixture of TNM Super League and championship clubs.
Silver Strikers scored 12 against none to beat Chulu FC in Lilongwe while Mafco shipped 15 past Mkweza Youth FC as Nyasa Big Bullets outclassed Sable Farming FC in a 5-1 goal thriller played at Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre.
Scorers for Bullets were Chiukepo Msowoya, Henry Kabichi (2 goals) and Muhammad Sulumba (2 goals) while Hector Limau scored the consolation goal for Sable Farming FC.
Red Lions beat Chikolomo FC 8-2 while Peter Mponda’s Wizards FC also registered a victory by beating Sayama FC 3-1. Azam Tigers and Zomba United had to settle it out through penalties after a goalless 90 minutes. Tigers won 5-4 on penalties.
In central region, Civo United won 4-3 against Msundwe FC, Soccer Saints and Kasungu Medicals ended 3-4 on penalties.
In The north Mzuni FC beat Mchengabutuwa 3-5 on penalties while Masendesende FC beat Usisya FC 1-0.
This season TNM Super League biggest names avoided each other for the regional playoffs of the Presidential Football Championship during a draw last week.
