The family of Ben Phiri who is also the unofficial acting President of Malawi and popularly known as ‘The Puppet Master’ for his continued control of the voted President Peter Mutharika has his whole family and distant relations on government payroll. Malawi Punch can confidently reveal.
According to information at hand from a well-placed source within the walls of State House, Ben Phiri registered all his family members and distant cousins as government employees who are pocketing millions of Malawi Tax payers money for doing nothing.
“This is something he is hiding so much, but the truth is there for all to see. Ben Phiri has his whole family enjoying government benefits at the expense of Tax Payers Money,” explained the source.
Some of the family members that are enjoying government benefits as employees when they are not include Chimwemwe Kajawo, Mr Kanyoza and his family and the Masamba’s family that are connected to Ben Phiri through his Mother’s side. His cousins of the Mkasala clan also pocket millions of kwachas and the order brother Martin Nkasala is an employee of government employeed to monitor email accounts of government ministers.
The Unofficial Acting President of Malawi who resigned as Special Assistant to President Peter Mutharika still lives in a government house despite being a mare person and with no legit government contract. Among other, government pays for his travels, house bills, DSTV, school fees for his relatives and also health scheme registered with Masm. Officially, Ben Phiri is not an employee of Malawi government owing to his resignation.
A good number of his family members are also enjoying the government benefits that include free house, water, electricity and DSTV bills.
It is also reported that his family members also abuse government resources. His cousin Steven Nkasala 27 years old was involved in a road accident when he drove the government vehicle with his girlfriends from Blantyre, an accident that claimed the lives of innocent people.
As reported by this paper, the accident occurred on Friday evening at around 19:30 hours at Kalinyeke Trading Centre, Dedza along M1 road between the ministry’s vehicle Nissan hard-body double cabin registration MG346AG and Iveco van MN 2369. Nkasala was driving while drunk as they parted in the government car all the way from Blantyre where they claimed to have attended Trade Fair activities to pocket millions of allowances.
