The controversial president of People’s Land Organisation (PLO), Vincent Wandale has sent a warning bird to Peter Mutharika’s administration for failing to meet their promises they made during 2014 tripartite campaign period.
Wandale has since unveiled his thirsty to run in the forthcoming elections on presidency seat to wipe out the Mutharika’s leadership which according to PLO’s president, is failing to deriver as Malawians want.
Wandale made this remarks in Thyolo on Tuesday after given a suspension sentence by a court in the district.
“In a short period to come we will register a new party with a brand name of People’s Land Party (PLP). PLP aims at giving people ownership of the land stolen from them by foreign companies which the current government is failing to meet,” said Wandale, adding that members will choose their own leaders.
Wandale who was arrested two months ago for mobilising locals from Thyolo and Mulanje to share land owned by Conforzi and other Tea Estates in the districts said the ruling will not hinder his aim and has since challenged that he will appeal the case to the International Criminal Court.
“We are going to appeal to get the true justice on the matter. I am very confident that everything will be good because I am still head of state no matter what we are less people and we are going to have a referendum to prove whether I am guilty or not,” he said.
In his sentiments after the ruling, Michael Goba Chipeta, Wandale’s lawyer argued that the sentence had errors; the sate lacked evidence that his client committed offenses the offence hence the decision to appeal to the high court.
Wandale’s decision to venture into politics is believed to have been aroused from personal fights with President Peter Mutharika from a time back.
