Two Officers Who Aided The Escape of Five Dangerous Criminals Granted Bail

Two police officers who were arrested ealier this week in Blantyre on suspicion that they aided the escape of five dangerous criminals at Soche on 18th July have been granted bail.

Malawi Punch was at the court today hearing case number BT / CR / 140 / 7 / 2016 accused persons ( 1 ) A 8700 sgt Emmanuel Msasa & A2388 S / Insp Steven Chikwetu both of Soche Police sub station appeared before the Blantyre SRM Court today, before His worship Rev.Kandulu where they denied the charge.

Both have been granted court bail on the following conditions. To deposit K 10,000.00 cash, produce two sureties to be bonded to K 20, 000.00 not cash, report BT Police every fortnight, not to leave BT without authority from the o/ C BT & not to interfere with witness.

Case adjourned to 5th August, 2016. Accused persons were represented by Counsel Wanangwa Hara and the state by Mr Davie Mtete ACP RPO South.
