Two Chanco students in police custody for defilement

Police in Zomba are keeping in custody two Chancellor College students  for allegedly  keep and sexually abuse  four under aged girls in their rooms,Malawi punch has learnt.


According to reports, the parents of girls reported to police on the disappearance of their daughters, and on Friday police managed to arrest the the students after they found the girls in their room.

The arrested students managed to keep the girls in their rooms for four consecutive days,The two third year students are being kept at Zomba police station while waiting for bail application.

Police are likely to open two cases, one on defilement as the girls are believed to be under 16 years which is contrary to section 138 of the penal code and  abduction of girls under 16 years which is contrary to section 136.

In a related development  (UNIMA) Council has postponed the opening date for Poly Technic ,Following the injunction obtained by the Students on Wednesday against recent fees hike.
