Opposition MP’s urge government to boost security for opposition leaders

Opposition law makers in the parliament have asked government to beef up security for opposition leader Dr Lazarus Chakwera and all Malawians at large arguing security for Malawians is at stake these days.

The remarks come after unknown robbers attempted to steal at Dr Lazarus Chakwela house in the early hours of Wednesday.

Meanwhile national police spokesperson James Kadadzera says the police is yet to make any arrest in connection to the incident concerning robbers that went at Chakwera’s house.

“The information that we have is that robbers attempted to steal at the opposition leader’s house Dr Lazarus Chakwera but they were all scared by police officers and escaped, we can say nothing has been stolen and nobody has been arrested but the investigations are underway”, explained Kadadzera.
