Malawi joins the rest of the world to commemorate international day of democracy but activists have bemoan slow progress for Malawi to consolidate democratic values on principals.
September 15 is the international day of cellebrating Democracy and Malawi will join the rest of the world in commemorating this day.
However some human rights activists feel Malawi is far beyond achieving what is required in a democratic country.
The human rights activists Mr. Timothy Mtambo of Centre for Human Rights and Rehabilitation (CHRR) and Mr Gift Trapense of Centre for Development of the People (CDP) both regret the tendency of authority to brush aside proper implementation of democracy despite the country having a good democratic base which is the constitution.
Mr. Mtambo says resistance change among authorities is a challenge
They have since challenged government and all stakeholders involved to ensure they walk the talk on all public sectary forms so that democracy can easily be achieved.
