HENRY KACHAJE BLAMED POLICE FOR SPRAYING TEARGAS TO SYUDENTS OF UNIMA

Henry Kachaje the President of ECAMA, has blamed the role of police officers who sprayed teargas to disrupt Unima students demostrations in Zomba. The students are demostrating against the new fees structure which government vowed never to change its desicion.

In his speech Kachaje said that I understand the students from Chancellor College are demonstrating against the proposed fee hike from K55,000 / K275,000 to K400,000.

Kachaje continued to say I wonder why the Police are busy spraying the students with lots of teargas. My question is: Kodi apolisiwo iwowo ma fees a K400,000 akwanitsa kulipilira ana awo? Zinazitu kumaganizako ngati kholo ( my question is will police officers manage to pay K 400,000 fees?)

So far President Mutharika as the chancellor of the UNIMA has not said anything which is giving no hope to the unirvesty students. According to the students they have vowed to go on with the demistrations despite the abuse by police.
