Football Association of Malawi (FAM) has referred to Disciplinary Committee the dispute between football star, Jaffalie Chande and his former club Nyasa Big Bullets.
Chande and Big Bullets have been locked in a dispute over the player’s contract with the club claiming he still has one more year to play for them. However, Chande has been insisting that his contract expires this year.
And on Wednesday, FAM in conjunction with the Super League of Malawi (SULOM) decided to refer the issue to Disciplinary Committee after concluding round table meetings on the issue.
FAM and SULOM held two meetings on 5th and 12th of this month to resolve the standoff between the two parties.
The Association’s General Secretary, Suzgo Nyirenda disclosed they have managed to gather enough information and documents that will be passed on to the Disciplinary Committee to determine the future of this matter.
“In the meantime, the player will wait for the determination before he starts playing club football again,” said Nyirenda.
It is expected that the FAM’s Disciplinary Committee will meet in due course to determine the issue at
Chande was last week summoned by Blantyre police on the same contract dispute which has erupted following his decision to join a rival club Mighty Be Forward Wanderers.
He was charged with forgery and uttering false documents according to the law enforcers, and was granted bail.
