Police in the commercial city of Blantyre have arrested seven people who are connected to the breaking and stealing of cash from College of Medicine FMB Bank’s auto-teller machine.
Last week the college’s students woke up to terrifying news after the school’s campus was ransacked by unknown thugs who even damaged the FMB auto-teller machine.
It was earlier on reported that the ransacked auto-teller machine was an inside job, however, on Thursday police managed to arrest those connected to the crime.
Blantyre police publicist Elizabeth Divala said the arrested seven people were behind the offence of breaking into a building and committing a felony therein which occurred at college of medicine some weeks ago where by the unknown criminals broke into and went away with various items worth millions of kwacha.
“Police visited the scene and inquires were carried out and managed to arrest seven in Blantyre and Lilongwe names withheld to pave way further investigations,” said Divala.
Meanwhile, police have recovered various items including computers, laptops, iPads phones, assorted cell phones, plasma screen among others.
