Vice-President Saulos Klaus Chilima on Saturday ceased an opportunity during Nsipe Parish silver jubilee celebrations to register his disappointment at how the country has failed to make notable strides towards development due to jealous among the citizenry.
Chilima was guest of honour as the Nsipe Parish of Roman Catholic in Ntcheu district and surrounding parishes under Dedza Diocese celebrated the priesthood of Fr. Protazio Mantchichi and Fr. Consolatus Kamzati, who have clocked 25 years serving the Lord.
The event also involved priestly ordination of five deacons, namely Alfred Kalumbi, Lazarus Magonde, Joseph Billiat, Emmanuel Tchuma and Mathews Chitendere.
And in his speech, Chilima who has been a subject of jealous and gossips within his Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) said the country is failing to develop due to the levels of jealous among the citizenry.
Other notable faces that graced the event include Minister of Information Patricia Kaliati, Bishop Emmanuel Kanyama of Dedza Diocese and John Chithonje Monsignor of Dedza Diocese, Fr. Gerald Bwemba (Nsipe Parish Priest), Joseph Biston (Chairperson of Nsipe Catholic Parish of Laity Council) and District Commissioner for Ntcheu Paul Kalilombe, among others.
