At least 73 people have died in Mozambique after Malawian tanker carrying petrol explodes in Kaphiri Dzanje in Tete this morning.
The tanker, a Mercedes Benz truck, with registration number SA 2565 developed a leak fault and locals ganged up and started siphoning fuel from the tank.
As the attack called a lot of people in action, the tank caught fire and exploded.
According to reports from the district, 73 people are feared dead and 160 seriously injured.
Meanwhile, Mozambique and Malawi authorities are yet to comment on the development as it was a Malawian vehicle attacked in a neighbouring country.
