In celebration for this year’s Independence Day, a Lilongwe based Flood Church has organised an Independence celebration show to be held at the Mbowe Filling Station.
The Ufulu Festival which is free of charge was firstly launched in 2014 and this year’s will mark its third year and promises to add up more fats. According to Flood Church, the annual 6th July festival provides a space for Malawian youth and families to enjoy their culture and celebrate freedom in a communal way.
The event stocks a number of performances of culture, poet, music, dances and will also features a children’s play and craft area and in the process targeting to build a great future of the county.
This year’s festival will be hosted by MBC Radio 2’s Joy Nathu and with performances from talented artists like DJ Kali, Qabaniso Malewezi, Enerst Ikwanga, Menes La Plume, Theo Thomson, Sam Mjura, Joshua Matonga, Nyali Music, Suffix and many. The Ufulu Festival 2016 is expected to start at 1PM to drop at 5PM on 6th July and it carries a motto of ‘Celebrate Freedom. Celebrate Life. Celebrate Malawi’.
