Lake of Stars in conjunction with Unicef Malawi and Timveni Radio, have announced the Lake of Stars (LoS) children’s festival which will take place on June 19th at Capital Hotel in Lilongwe as part of the celebrations for the 2016 Day of the African Child.
This year’s edition is expected to come with an action-packed programme for kids of all ages to participate in, that’s according to LoS director Will Jameson.
“After the success of last year’s inaugural event which saw over 2,000 children and parents attend, we are really looking forward to the second edition of the Children’s Future Festival,” he is quoted by media.
“Having the opportunity to organize something specifically for the youth is hugely exciting and we feel the festival offers a positive, stimulating, safe environment for children and young people of all ages and backgrounds to come together and have fun, as well as providing a forum for them to express views, learn and empower themselves“.
Other activities to be on offer, including live music performances from Faith Mussa and Tay Grin, poetry workshops with Robert Chiwamba, app development and video gaming activities from Mhub, storytelling, art creation with Art House Africa, soft play, jumping castles and toys, science displays, dance workshops, sports activities, acrobatic displays, short films, face painting and much more.
