World Vision says literacy level among children has improved from 54 percent to 80 percent in the area of Tradition Authority Chamba in Machinga district.
World Vision Senior Program Manager in Machinga, Henry Machemba said the introduction of their program which promotes primary education as well as children protection has scaled-up literacy level among children in the district.
He also said as an organization they are committed to improving education for children in their impact areas where they are failing to access education due to poverty.
“We are contributing in primary education and our focus is on young learners. So far we have seen changes in literacy levels of children in the district from 54 percent to 80 percent,” said Machemba.
