The Mzuzu Chief Resident Magistrate has convicted a deputy headmaster of Chamalaza Primary School in Nkhata-Bay district Albert Zunda for defiling a standard eight pupil aged 14.
According to court documents, the victim was among fellow standard eight pupils who were self boarding at the school.
In December 2014 the 48-year-old Zunda called the girl to a nearby unoccupied house on the pretext to give her marked exam paper but ended up defiling her.
Victim later developed sores on her private parts and the matter was reported to Police who later arrested Zunda.
The court is expected to deliver its sentence on 08th June, 2016.
Zunda comes from Chitungulu village under Traditional Authority Katumbi in Rumphi district.
