Candidates sitting for this year’s Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) examination will have no break on Thursday despite government declaring it a holiday due to Eid-al-Fitr’s celebrations.
Muslims across the world will celebrate Eid-al-Fitr on Thursday 7th July, 2016 following the end of observation of a holy month of Ramadan.
And on Tuesday Malawi National Examinations Board (MANEB) in a press statement said the MSCE candidates will have no holiday.
“The Malawi National Examinations Board (MANEB) would like to inform candidates, examination administrators and the general public that administration of the 2016 will continue during the Thursday public holiday,” read the statement in part.
“As indicated on the timetable circulated in January this year, candidates have a break on Tuesday, 5th July, and Wednesday, 6th July; and the examination resumes on Thursday, 7th
All candidates and examination administrators have since been advised to ‘unfailingly’ observe
Over 150, 000 candidates are sitting for this year’s examination which started on Wednesday 22nd June, 2016.
