MBS Warns Food processing Units

The Malawi Bureau of Standards (MBS) has issued a strong warning to food processing units who are not complying with hygienic standards.

The development comes barely a few months after (MBS) closed four big companies which include an alcoholic beverages producer, a food market, a well-known bakery as well as several hotels in the country.

In a statement released by the bureau, it has been noted that most food processing units are not complying with the set-up standards.

MBS has also advised all food processing units and catering service providers who have not been approved by the bureau to register by 30th June, 2016 or face legal action.
