An eight member delegation, comprising engineers and various building experts from the People’s Republic of China are in the country to conduct feasibility study for the construction of 5 Community Colleges.
Speaking when the delegation paid a courtesy call on Tuesday, Minister of Labour and Manpower Development Henry Mussa commended the Chinese government for being the real friend in time of need.
The five colleges which China will support will be built in Mzimba, Nsanje, Mangochi, Mulanje, and Ntcheu.
During the function, leader of the delegation, Professor Mrs Ding Chi Juan commended Malawi Government for the initiative.
The delegation will be in the country for a month.
President Peter Mutharika officially launched Community Technical Colleges concept with an aim of addressing employment problems amongst the youths.
Mutharika has been asking Malawi youths to change their mindset and recognize that it is not only white collar jobs that will develop the country.
According to the Malawi leader, technical and vocational jobs are important means of development and self sufficient because they provide and achieve a turnaround in poverty indicators.
