The faculty of law students at Chancellor College (Chanco) over the weekend conducted a legal street clinic in Zomba city.
Kondwani Kumitengo one of the organizers said they were specifically targeting cases involving disability rights.
According to Kumitengo the exercise does not only benefit the clients but the organizers as well as they acquired more knowledge on issues surrounding disability rights.
“A street law clinic is one way of bringing the law to people who have different cases. We are here to assist these people who may want to get remedies especially in the field of disabilities,” said Kumintengo.
“This street law clinic is also beneficial to us because we get a practical experience of the law to see how people are affected in their lives and in the end we put into practice what we learn in theory,” he added.
