Poor Malawians should brace for more tough times ahead following the increase of fuel prices by Malawi Energy Regulatory Authority (MERA).
Malawi Punch has established that MERA has hiked the prices of fuel effective this night (Thursday 9th June).
Following the increase, now Petrol will be sold at K788.30 from K743.30, Diesel is at K766.90 from K722.80 while Paraffin has been raised from K580.40 to K609.80.
Fuel prices were last hiked in March this year.
The price increase has been effected following trends in the world petroleum products’ prices and changes in other macroeconomic fundamentals in the local market and their impact on energy prices.
